30 Promising Nursing Students Awarded the 2018 APNA Board of Directors Student Scholarship
Date:8/7/2018

The American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) is pleased to announce the 30 talented nursing students selected to receive the 2018 Board of Directors Student Scholarship. The APNA student scholarship program seeks to encourage students to experience the rewarding field of psychiatric-mental health nursing and develop the next generation of leaders in the profession.

Each year, undergraduate/pre-licensure and graduate-level nursing students across the nation are invited to either apply for the scholarship or be nominated by a member of their nursing school faculty. Scholarship winners receive registration, travel and lodging to attend the APNA 32nd Annual Conference, October 24-27, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a one-year complimentary APNA membership to enjoy its professional benefits.

“We are very proud to offer these 30 outstanding nursing students the opportunity to become part of our professional community and gain a unique perspective on the benefits of working in the field of psychiatric-mental health care,” says APNA President Linda Beeber, PhD, PMHCNS-BC, FAAN. “The Board of Directors Student Scholarship provides nursing students with extensive professional connections and support that helps them move forward in their careers. In fact, 85 percent of past recipients report that their APNA scholarship experience directly influenced their decision in choosing psychiatric-mental health nursing or affirming that this was the right field of study for them.”
