24 Hour Fitness Partners With Derek Jeter to Launch Signature Sports Clubs in New York City

SAN RAMON, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- 24 Hour Fitness Worldwide, the largest privately owned U.S. fitness chain and leading health club pioneer, announced a partnership with New York icon and Yankees' captain Derek Jeter to open its first health club in New York City. The signature sports club, which will be called 24 Hour Fitness -- Derek Jeter, will open in late June 2008 at 225 Fifth Avenue, on the corner of 26th Street at Madison Square Park. As part of the joint venture, Jeter is an equity partner and will play an active role in the design, look, tone and feel of the clubs. Additionally, he will appear in advertising and make promotional appearances on behalf of the club. There are currently plans for two additional 24 Hour Fitness-Derek Jeter clubs to open in Manhattan over the next year.
