The event will serve as a new roadmap for healthcare IT over the next decade and will focus on areas including: innovative encounter models (e.g. telemedicine), patient engagement, new payment models, and integration of clinical and administrative data systems. The effort marks the culmination of a 7 month public-private effort with more than 200 subject matter expert volunteers.

The objective of the 2013 WEDI Report is to provide a common guiding vision for industry action in the following areas:

  •     Enabling patient engagement through improved access to pertinent data
  •     Evaluating alternative payment models and requisite business, information and exchange requirements
  •     Reviewing existing standards and exploring ways to better align administrative and clinical information capture, linkage and exchange
  •     Evaluating business cases for innovative encounter models using existing and emergent technologies

“The 2013 WEDI Report is the culmination of an entire year’s work by our Steering Committee, Board of Directors, workgroups, members and advisors,” said Devin Jopp, WEDI president and CEO. “We are excited to have such an outstanding lineup of speakers to help us launch the Report at The National Press Club.”
