2009 National Ergonomics Conference Coming To Las Vegas In November; Features Strategies For Dealing With A Slow Economy & Aging Workforce In Office, Industrial, Healthcare & Uncontrolled Work Environments
Date:9/30/2009

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The 15th Annual National Ergonomics Conference and Exposition (ErgoExpo) at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, November 17 - 20, will focus on the importance of ergonomics in a time of economic recovery. ErgoExpo's core educational topics of program management and return on investment, the aging workforce, and safety will be coupled with tracks specifically for those working in offices and call centers, industrial, lab, healthcare, and uncontrolled environments including energy, utility, maintenance and construction. Attendees have over 75 unique educational opportunities to choose from, and a host of new products to evaluate at the Expo.

Attendees can save $100 when registering for the ErgoExpo conference by Nov. 6. Groups of 3 or more save 10% each. Alumni (returning attendees) save a total of $150 with special discounting available through Oct. 1. Registration for the Expo and Keynotes is free to business professionals and the press at www.ErgoExpo.com.

Ergonomics, safety and allied professionals can get a sample of the high-quality education available at ErgoExpo by tuning in for a free webinar on Oct. 7, 2009, 2 - 3 PM ET. Drew Bossen, PT, MBA; EVP of Atlas Ergonomics will present "Proving the Value of Ergonomics to Your Company - and why that's good for your career." A full presentation description and registration for this free webinar is available at www.ErgoExpo.com. Webinar participants will receive a special discount for the 2009 ErgoExpo.

"After 15 years there's a reason why ErgoExpo is the largest ergonomics event in the nation. We're proud to serve this industry, and we strive to produce an event that not only educates and energizes attendees, but also prepares them to be their best at their jobs, no matter what type of economy, no matter what type of business they serve," commented Walter Charnizon, President, Continental Exhibitions, Inc., owners/producers of ErgoExpo. "2010 will bring new challenges and opportunities, and professionals from Armstrong World Industries to the U.S. Marines and everyone in between knows that ErgoExpo is the best place to learn, network, and evaluate products," Charnizon further remarked.

Attendees, who will hail from organizations including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boeing, Chevron, CDC, ConAgra, Eli Lilly & Co., John Deere, Kaiser Permanente, NASA, Nintendo, USPS, the Walt Disney Co. among many others, began registering before the final program was even released, proving again that ergonomics professionals trust ErgoExpo to provide cutting-edge strategies and case studies from ergonomics trailblazers. Many registrants have noted that until workforces reach optimal levels, keeping their employees healthy, safe and productive is more important than ever before. Those goals are at the foundation of every session, workshop, product, and service available at ErgoExpo.

Standing room only is expected at what are regarded as the industry's best keynotes. Frank Maguire, a founder and former SVP of FedEx, will share his methods for employee motivation and inspiration on Wed., Nov. 18. As a business and idea leader with experience ranging from JFK's White House to ABC Radio, KFC, and the Special Olympics, Maguire will discuss how to look beyond survival mode and focus on growth. Brent Pawlecki, MD, MMM, Corporate Medical Director for Pitney Bowes will address strategies for cutting costs and boosting productivity on Nov. 19, and David Cochran, PhD, PE, CPE, Professor of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska will deliver ErgoExpo's 5th Annual State of the Industry Address on Friday, Nov. 20.

Other industry leaders sharing their secrets to ergonomics success will hail from About.com, BD Biosciences, JetBlue, Kaiser Permanente, Liberty Mutual, Pacific Gas & Electric, Pepperidge Farm, Raytheon, Sony Pictures, Travelers Insurance, and many others. Topics addressed will range from healthcare cost reduction, ergonomics for those in construction and utility work, LEED credit for ergonomics, reducing injury related costs by 50% or more, the unique ergonomics and safety issues in healthcare, and designing the workplace for the aging population.

Attendees that hold certification with the ABIH and BCSP will qualify for certification maintenance, and BCPE testing will take place on Nov. 16 at Caesars Palace, allowing testing participants to attend the full ErgoExpo program.

The majority of last year's exhibitors are back for 2009, and all major sponsors including Herman Miller, Kinesis, Fellowes and Steelcase renewed their advertising and sponsorship campaigns as well. As Sherry Davis, Ergonomics Product Manager at AliMed noted last year, "There are no tire kickers here! Everyone is here to do business and it's always non-stop on the show floor!" Several exhibitors, including Power Pusher by NuStar, Workstuff, and Prestige International increased their exhibit space for this year's show. There are also 12, and counting, new exhibitors this year including Anatome, Capsera Scientific, Ideal Seating, Nuance Communications, and SpaceCo. This year's exhibitors are also planning to debut their newest products at ErgoExpo's 8th Annual Attendees' Choice Awards Program. The list of exhibitors, the current floor plan and available space, attendee demographics, and exhibit space application can be found online at www.ErgoExpo.com.

Online registration is available, along with the conference program, speaker bios, hotel, airline and other travel discount information at www.ErgoExpo.com. Those interested in exhibiting or speaking should contact show management at 212-370-5005 or at information@ErgoExpo.com.
