“Horrific” Crash Completely Closed I-95
Date:9/20/2013

(PRWEB) September 20, 2013

Southbound I-95 was completely closed last week when a car lost control, spinning into a second vehicle reported CBS Miami. Attorney Michael Steinger says the accident could easily have been fatal.

Cornelius Houser, 21, was driving the car when he lost control for unknown reasons, according to CBS Miami (09.02.2013). The car first hit the guardrail and wall and then bounced off, spinning into traffic and striking the second vehicle. Houser was one of four students in the vehicle, all of whom were hospitalized.

CBS Miami reported two people in the other vehicle were also injured, but not as severely according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue workers. Houser and one of his passengers suffered the worst injuries when they were thrown completely out of their vehicle, probably when it hit the wall according to police. Steinger, the founder of Steinger, Iscoe and Greene law firm, says that such high-speed accidents are often much worse.

“Make no mistake, this was horrific,” Steinger said. “We've been told there were broken bones and internal injuries. But when a driver is thrown through the windshield onto the freeway, that's often when there's a fatality.”

Florida Highway Patrol has stated that Houser was speeding and that speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

“At high speeds even the smallest thing can cause a driver to lose control,” Steinger said. “I work with accident victims all the time who have learned this firshtand. Even a small bump can cause a high-speed car to veer or spin.”
