Informatics Corporation of America Takes 2008 Healthcare IT Summit by Storm, Winning Two of Five Award Categories

Informatics Corporation of America, unmatched in its ability to deliver a cost-effective, proven solution that leverages complete data across clinical settings to aid decision-making and improve patient outcomes (, today announced that it earned two of Healthcare IT Summit’s prestigious Innovation Awards. Nominated in four of the five categories, ICA was voted “Solution with the Greatest Market Potential” and “Most Innovative Presentation.” ICA was also nominated for “Best New Technology” and “Best Value for the Money/ROI.” The awards are a proven springboard to increased brand awareness and product credibility in the health care information technology (IT) market.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Business Wire EON) November 25, 2008 -- "This is an outstanding accomplishment for ICA, but it was no surprise that our message resonated with so many Summit attendees," said Gary Zegiestowsky, CEO of ICA. "In our meetings, it became apparent that many are challenged in delivering coordinated patient care across clinical settings. Our solution, with a strong heritage at Vanderbilt Medical Center, helps drive improved outcomes by enabling clinical interoperability, so that physicians can access and act on complete patient information in real time at the point of care. Moreover, for less than one-fifth the cost of traditional enterprise-wide solutions, ICA builds on existing technology investments to deliver a complete electronic health record in six months or less, an incomparable speed to value."

The Healthcare IT Summit, held November 16-19 in San Diego, California, brought technology providers together with 200 of North America's top healthcare IT executives. For more than a decade this event has driven business using private boardroom appointments, one-on-one meetings, industry insight sessions and networking events.

Sponsors competing for awards included Compuware, Microsoft, Covisint, HealthEdge, InfoLogix, 3M, APC, Dimensional Insight, and MexicoIT. Also, Axolotl, Bradford Networks, Carefx, dbMotion, e-MDs, ECG Management Consultants, Eclipsys, Emergis, Enclarity, Fujitsu, Healthation, Healthx, ikaSystems, Initiate, InterSystems, MEDecision, MedPlus, Orion, Pitney Bowes, Polycom, Portico, QlikView, and Sungard.
