“M*Modal and Intelligent Medical Objects Partner to Improve Ease of Use of Electronic Medical Records”

Greenway and other leading companies who use IMO’s terminology to document information entered by physicians using traditional EHR direct data entry methods.

Using M*Modal Speech Understanding technology, physician dictation is transformed into structured data that fulfills EHR data entry requirements for orders, problem list, vital signs, allergies, and medications. This method increases physician adoption of the EHR as no change in familiar dictation habits is required.

“Clinicians using M*Modal Clinical Documentation Services have created tens of millions of clinical documents each year and the number continues to grow. Coding these documents using IMO® Problem IT™ will enrich the content and allow these documents to feed EHRs and clinical repositories with problem focused tags at the point of care”, said Frank Naeymi-Rad, IMO’s CEO.

The current IMO® Problem IT™ data source contains over 190,000 terms and concepts representing over 16,000 ICD-9-CM codes and terms. Incorporating IMO® Problem IT™ will ease the anticipated future adoption of ICD-10-CM, reducing the effort to undertake a major migration of coded health information. IMO® Problem IT™ will incorporate ICD-10-CM when it is required in the U.S.
