“I Can See Like a Hawk!” Says Inside MMA Host Bas Rutten
Date:11/18/2009

Bas Rutten is thrilled to be able to see again without glasses. Even though he had had PRK before. he had lost the ability to see distance. Prelex procedure done by Rajesh Khanna, MD has restored his distance vision as well as preserving his near vision.

(Vocus) November 18, 2009 -- Currently Bas Rutten is the co-host of the popular variety show “Inside MMA” on HDNet. As you may recall, Rutten is a retired Dutch-American mixed martial artist (MMA). In previous years, he was the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion, as well as a professional kick boxer, and MMA fighter. Since then he has appeared in the media through several television shows, movies, and even in video games. Rutten is one of the all time best fighters. So it only seemed fitting, when he began having trouble with his eye sight, he came to one of the best eye surgeon- namely Dr. Rajesh Khanna. To improve Rutten’s vision, Dr. Khanna discussed various procedures including Lasik, Super Lasik and PRELEX. After thorough discussion regarding Mr. Rutten’s lifestyle, age and reluctance to wear any glasses decision to perform the relatively new procedure known as PRELEX was taken

During surgery the natural lens which has stopped performing its function, is exchanged for a Presbyopic Implant Lens. These artificial lenses are made from biocompatible material like acrylic or silicon. In essence the surgery gets rid of your reading glasses while improving your near, middle and distance vision. Rutten expressed his enthusiasm, “I can see like a hawk” exclaimed Rutten. He can now see 20/20 for both distance and near. While shooting an upcoming episode of “Fight Magazine” Rutten said he was beyond please
