$2.5 Billion Settlement In DePuy ASR Hip Replacement Lawsuits, Reports Wright & Schulte LLC

The DePuy ASR hip lawsuit settlement lawyers at Wright & Schulte LLC applaud a $2.5 Billion Settlement in DePuy ASR Hip Replacement Lawsuits. The announcement today in Ohio Federal Court could lead to the settlement of some 8,000 DePuy ASR hip lawsuits. These lawsuits were filed on behalf of individuals who underwent revision surgeries due to complications allegedly associated with a recalled ASR metal-on-metal hip. According to court documents, if the settlement proposal is approved, each of these DePuy ASR recall plaintiffs would receive part of the $2.5 billion settlement (one maximum Base Award of $250,000 that is subject to potential reductions ) for each revision surgery they required. The settlement would also provide a supplemental award to pay for “extraordinary injuries”, such as heart and kidney problems, that DePuy ASR hip replacement lawsuits allege were the result of exposure to toxic metal particles shed from the devices. Wright & Schulte LLC is representing numerous plaintiffs in DePuy ASR hip implant lawsuits whose cases have been filed in the proceeding underway in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. According to court documents, all of the lawsuits filed in that litigation were brought on behalf of individuals who suffered metallosis, pain, swelling, chromium and cobalt poisoning, and other serious complications allegedly associated with ASR hip implants, which were voluntarily recalled in August 2010 due t
