VIPomaDefinition:
VIPomas are exceedingly rare
cancerous
tumors that arise from a type of
hormone-secreting
cell in the
pancreas.
VIPomas cause
diarrhea,
hypokalemia (low
blood potassium), and a decrease in the amount of
acid in the
stomach.
