Urticaria


Urticaria: Another name for the hives. Raised, itchy areas of skin that are usually a sign of an allergic reaction. Hives can be rounded or flat-topped but are always elevated above the surrounding skin.

Urticaria pigmentosa goes away by puberty in about half of the affected children. Symptoms usually decrease in the remaining patients as they grow into adulthood.
