A urine pH test measures the pH (acidity) of urine. See also acid loading test.

Urine pH: A measure of the acidity or alkalinity of urine.
The pH of any fluid is the measure of the hydrogen ion (H-) concentration. A pH of 7 is neutral. The lower the pH, the more acidic the urine.

A urine pH of 4 is strongly acidic, 7 is neutral (neither acidic nor alkaline), and 9 is strongly alkaline. Sometimes the pH of urine may be adjusted by certain types of treatment.
