TracheostomyA procedure in which a small opening is made in the neck and into the
trachea. A
breathing tube is then placed through this opening.

aspiration is used to collect a
sputum sample. The health professional will inject a local

trachea and large
airways in the lung for abnormal areas. A bronchoscope (a thin, lighted tube) is inserted through the nose or mouth into the
trachea and
lungs.
Tissue samples may be taken for
biopsy.

Surgery to repair an injured part of the
trachea is a major operation.
Full article >>>The
larynx flows into the
trachea, which is the tree trunk, and thus the broadest part of the
respiratory tree. The
trachea divides into two tree limbs, the

Full article >>>Croup is
inflammation and narrowing of the
larynx and
trachea (the main
airways to the lung) more formally known as laryngo
tracheitis. The
mucosa lining the
airway becomes inflamed and there are increased secretions.
Full article >>>Acute allergic reactions in which the
trachea and/or throat swell closed are a common cause of
airway obstruction. The classic example is an allergic reaction to a bee sting, which frequently takes the form of an anaphylactic reaction.

inflammation of the
bronchioles . Generally a mild condition that eventually heals totally, however,
bronchitis can also be
chronic.
Full article >>>SYMPTOMS"The
larynx (vocal cords) or
trachea (windpipe) narrows because
infection causes the walls to swell inward. There is difficulty in
breathing;
hoarseness; tightness in the
lungs; a harsh, barking
cough; and even a feeling of
suffocation.
