injection of the
allergen into the
circulation, with an increased risk of adverse reactions. Inhalation tests may provoke an
asthma attack.

intradermal test, a needle is used to inject the
allergen solution deeper into the
skin.
The
skin prick test and the
intradermal test usually take less than an hour.

intradermal, or Mantoux, technique in which a purfied
antigen is injected under the
skin, and then observed 48 to 72 hours later.

intradermal injection of a small volume of 99mTc-sulfur colloid and serial
gamma camera im
aging. It allows visualization of selected regional
lymphatic drainage.

intradermal test — if a
puncture, prick or
scratch test is inconclusive.
Full article >>>If the prick test is negative or the test results are not clear, a similar but more sensitive test called an
intradermal test may be done. For the
intradermal test, a very small amount of
allergen is injected under the
skin.
