Walkaway automation for nucleic acid purification

GenoVision AS, an innovative biotechnology company offering complete walkaway automation for the isolation and purification of nucleic acids, is now part of the QIAGEN Group of Companies and is now known as QIAGEN AS. QIAGEN AS focuses on low- to medium-throughput purification of DNA and
RNA from a variety of blood and tissue samples using MagAttract magnetic-bead technology in combination with BioRobot M-Series workstations.

QIAGEN AS is a leader in the nucleic acid diagnostics and HLA-testing market, and has developed two BioRobot workstations for easy and reliable purification of nucleic acids. High-quality nucleic acids can be isolated from a variety of sample sources, including dried blood, leukocytes, serum, buccal cells, cultured cells, biopsies, paraffinembedded tissue sections, animal tissue, and yeast cells. The BioRobot M-Series workstations increase productivity by improving the reproducibility, speed, and quality of nucleic acid purification, providing a complete system with flexible sample throughput for walkaway automation.

QIAGEN AS offers two BioRobot M-Series workstations the BioRobot M48 and BioRobot M96. Each workstation has a secure closure for safe processing of samples, in order to shield the user and reduce noise. Internal modules and precision liquid handling ensure cross-contaminationfree purification of nucleic acids using proven MagAttract magnetic-bead technology. The BioRobot M48 provides flexible sample throughput with processing of up to 48 samples in increments of 6 samples per run. The BioRobot M96 allows processing of up to 96 samples in increments of 8 samples per run. Highly pure nucleic acid, suitable for sensitive downstream applications, c an be isolated from 6 or 8 samples in just 20 minutes. In addition, sample input volumes and elution volumes are variable, making your experiment more flexible and allowing you to isolate DNA at the optimal concentration for your downstream application. The BioRobot M96 can be used for specialized protocols such as isolation of DNA from dried blood spots, and it provides cost-effective isolation of nucleic acids from small sample volumes (i.e., 50 l). Easy-to-use QIAsoft M Operating System software is optimized for automated purification of nucleic acids, and eliminates the need to learn complex computer languages or command structures.
