UW-Madison Battles Prolific Computer Virus

MADISON-The University of Wisconsin-Madison is experiencing problems with the SoBIG.F e-mail virus and requires campus e-mail users to help contain its spread. This virus and others, which have ravaged computers nationwide, has infected about 2,200 computers on campus and has affected the e-mail operations for all users. UW-Madison officials shut ......

Campus users who own a computer that runs Windows 2000, XP or NT need to download and install Microsoft patches. The Microsoft patches are needed to keep computers from being infected with the Blaster, MSBlast or Lovesan worms. Campus users can get the patches here:
