QIAGEN Plasmid Kits

For purification of up to 10 mg ultrapure plasmid or cosmid DNA

Classic QIAGEN Plasmid Kits use gravity-flow anion-exchange tips for efficient purification of plasmid DNA

Features and benefits

  • Purity equivalent to that obtained by 2x CsCl-gradient centrifugation
  • Reproducible yields of ultrapure DNA
  • No ethidium bromide, no phenol, no chloroform, no CsCl
  • Cost effective mini,* midi, maxi, mega, and giga preparations

* Note: For other miniprep spin and vacuum formats, See Plasmid Miniprep Kit Selection guide.
Actual yields depend on plasmid copy number, size of insert, host strain, culture medium, and culture volume.
Culture volumes depend on plasmid copy number, size of insert, host strain, and culture medium.

Procedure

With QIAGEN Plasmid Kits, bacterial lysates are cleared by centrifugation and the cleared lysate is applied to the QIAGEN-tip for plasmid DNA purification. Eluted ultrapure DNA is recovered by isopropanol precipitation and centrifugation.

Applications

Plasmid DNA purified with QIAGEN Plasmid Kits is ideal for use in applications such as transfection cloning, manual or automated sequencing, including capillary sequencing, and in vitro transcription.
