Milwaukee Norlight Telecommunications Inc. plans to extend its network into central Illinois by activating fiberoptic cable.

The company says it operates 3,800 miles of network connections already and will add 347 miles more later this year. The Illinois expansion plans cover Peoria, Bloomington, Champaign and Danville.
