New report says Wisconsin R&D spending exceeding expectations

Madison, Wis.Wisconsin's research and development funding has exceeded expectations, reaching $3.6 billion in 2002, according to a new report. The state had set a target of $3.3 billion by 2005.

In 2002, the state ranked 20th nationally in private R&D spending per capita, and 13th in academic R&D spending.
