Maintaining High Sensitivity when Working with Small-Volume Samples

Reduced-Volume Samples
20 L, 50 L, 250 L, or 1 mL

Biological Samples
enzymes
polymers
amino acids

Maximum Sensitivity
photon-counting
superb imaging quality

Samples can be valuable. Either you dont want to waste them, or you may not have very much with which to start. Biological proteins and enzymes, for example, are often obtained in small volumes and may be expensive. On the other hand, in a materials-science application, you may have access only to a fine crystal or a minute section of a polymer.

Thats when the fine imaging quality and photon-counting sensitivity of a SPEX FLUOROMAX and FLUOROLOG spectrofluorometer are essential. Notice that the signal level is maintained when using either the 4-mL (part number 1920 or 1925) or the 20-L (part number 1955) volume cell containing samples of the same concentration.
