BioRobot MDx Workstation

Fully automated sample preparation for clinical laboratories.

Features and benefits
  • Standardized processing and proven QIAamp chemistries for reliable results
  • QIAsoft MDx software for protected protocols and secure user environments
  • Full process documentation and sample tracking for effortless data management
  • Detailed load check for error-free worktable setup
Principle

The BioRobot MDx workstation provides walkaway automation of sample preparation for applications in clinical laboratories. The workstation has high-precision positioning for accurate liquid handling through 8 channels and uses disposable filter-tips to eliminate carryover. Automated vacuum processing eliminates centrifugation steps, allowing true walkaway automation and faster sample processing. The sample tracking system (STS) identifies and tracks bar-codelabeled labware for fully traceable results.

The BioRobot MDx is supplied with ready-to-run QIAamp protocols for isolation of genomic DNA from blood and viral DNA and RNA from plasma and serum. Reaction setup protocols for some commercially available amplification systems are also supplied with the instrument. Customized protocols for reaction setup can be programmed by our application specialists.
