Americas weighty problem: Why the fight against fat is about more than just looking good

were diagnosed with diabetes in 2000; experts believe another 112,000 were undiagnosed.

Many other persons were at increased risk of undiagnosed diabetes because of the risk factors of age, obesity, and sedentary lifestyle. About 18 percent of Wisconsin residents 65 and older have diabetes.
