CommNexus Forms Non-Profit to Support Innovative Start-up Companies and Entrepreneurs in Communications and Communications Convergence

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2009 -- CommNexus and Leap Wireless, International, Inc., the parent company of Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, today announce their support for EvoNexus, a non-profit incubator dedicated to helping San Diego start-ups in the communications and communications convergence industries evolve into sustainable and vital companies.

Operating as a sister organization to San Diego communications industry group CommNexus, EvoNexus is designed to create a center of excellence for entrepreneurs starting companies dealing with communications and communications convergence such as wireless-life sciences and wireless smart grid. EvoNexus will house up to 10 start-up companies for up to 24 months in an "incubator" facility. Participating companies will be provided office space, access to tools and equipment, utilities, education and mentoring from industry professionals while they are part of the program. Upon graduation from the incubator, companies will be under no obligations to EvoNexus, financial or otherwise.
