Orange County Laser Surgeon Nissan Pilest Tapped as Keynote Speaker at Fraxel & Thermage User Forum Held at Beckman Laser Institute
Date:6/7/2009

om the Fraxel lasers, patients can achieve even more visual and palpable firming along with a return of vastly improved skin quality, color and smoothness."

Dr. Pilest was the first Board Certified Dermatologist in Orange County to use the Fraxel Re:pair laser and has consistently stayed abreast of Thermage's therapies for skin tightening of the face, neck and body and has recently incorporated the company's new Body Tip 16 which speeds up treatment and combines firming with visual cellulite improvement to the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. "Patients literally leave the office with a reduced circumference in the areas treated. It's quite amazing."

The attending physicians were given opportunities to engage in discussion of pros and cons of both nonsurgical means of skin tightening and fractional resurfacing plus fractional skin coagulation which is used for acne scarring and melasma.

These professional forums provide an excellent opportunity for physicians who are entering the laser technology arena to learn from seasoned laser physicians. Dr. Pilest was selected early on as a prefector and teacher for the Fraxel Repair CO2 laser. Physicians typically are trained by the developing company and then attend private or small group trainings with a prefector who has long term experience.Dr. Pilest has over 30 years' experience and incorporates much of his practical knowledge in his role as Clinical Assistant Professor at UCI's Department of Dermatology.
