John Sperzel Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of ITC Nexus Dx

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Executive search firm Sanford Rose Associates® - San Diego, focusing exclusively on assignments for Life Sciences and Healthcare companies, is proud to announce another successful placement. Mr. John Sperzel has been selected for the position of Chief Executive Officer at ITC Nexus Dx, a global provider of Point of Care testing systems and advanced diagnostic solutions, reporting to ITC Nexus Dx's Board of Directors.

Mr. Sperzel is a dynamic business leader with an outstanding track record of accomplishments. He possesses 24 years of experience in the global diagnostics market, including large and small companies, with substantial experience in Point of Care (POC) coagulation and critical care/blood gas testing. Under John's leadership, his team received two consecutive "Manufacturer of the Year" awards from Physician Sales & Service, the largest distributor of medical supplies and services to office-based physicians in the United States.

Mr. Sperzel joins ITC Nexus Dx after serving most recently as President of Axis-Shield Inc., a company focused on POC immunoassay systems for diabetes, infection, and cardiovascular disease. Previous to that Mr. Sperzel held several leadership positions with Bayer Diagnostics, Instrumentation Laboratory and Boehringer Mannheim Diagnostics (Roche). He currently serves on the New England board of the American Diabetes Association and serves as an advisor to the board of the Diagnostic Marketing Association, where he previously served as President.
