White Mountain Process Announces Sanitary Autoclave Style Pharmaceutical Agitator
Date:4/24/2013

(PRWEB) April 24, 2013

White Mountain Process, located in Massachusetts, introduces its Bio Mixer Agitator, the innovative, autoclave-style mixer that allows the container and mixing apparatus to be sterilized at the same time without disassembly of the mixing apparatus.

Growth in the biopharma and biotech industries has ushered in the need for more safe and efficient sterilization of mixing equipment. Autoclaving, which uses high pressure steam, is a preferred method for sterilizing medical and laboratory equipment. The Bio Blender sanitary clamp mount agitator makes autoclaving simpler and more efficient for sterile and contaminant-free mixing.

Most mixing units require complete disassembly to be autoclaved, then reassembly before use. The WMP-BB-90 Bio Blender saves time since it can be autoclaved assembled and remain sterilized (sealed) until use, the electric or air operated motor simple detach via a tri clamp connection. Also, since the mixer housing, shaft and impeller and seal can remain on the tank throughout the whole process, additional handling is eliminated. This makes accidental exposure to potential contaminants far less likely. With the entire mixer assembly to be autoclaved at one time, the entire unit keeps its sterile seal in tact.

White Mountain Process’ Bio Blender is lightweight. The agitator can be used on poly tanks, which is unusual for the typical very heavy agitators. This autoclave mixer works on 2, 3, and 4” plastic TC ferrules on polyethylene (PE not typically autoclaved) and polypropylene vessels. The mixer also works great on stainless steel tanks. For small tanks, the agitator can fit on a standard poly, PP 2” TC top port and other poly process vessels without additional support structures. The mixer motor and gearbox are easily removed from the m
