The messaging system is designed to support a wide range of current and emerging needs, including:

-- continuity and coordination of care

-- clinical integration programs

-- Patient Centered Medical Home projects

-- patient-physician communication

-- physician organization communication with physicians

-- preventive care programs

-- chronic disease management initiatives

The WellCentive registry system and its new secure messaging system can be used across the continuum of care by primary care physicians, specialist physicians, urgent care centers, emergency rooms, hospital systems, home health agencies, physician organizations and health insurance companies.

Features of the messaging system include email and real-time notifications when new messages arrive, as well as the ability to attach patient charts and other files to secure messages being sent. The file attachment feature can also be used by physician organizations or health insurance companies for a variety of purposes, including the distribution of quality outcome reports.
