Ventria Expands Lactoferrin Production
Date:10/17/2008

Lactoferrin expansion required to meet increasing global demand in infant formula and infant nutrition.

Junction City, KS (PRWEB) October 17, 2008 -- Ventria Bioscience announced it has successfully increased production of lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a protein that is found naturally in breastmilk and has been credited with improved health benefits for breastfed children. It is used worldwide in infant formula and other functional foods. Ventria produces its lactoferrin by extracting the protein from rice produced by Kansas farmers.

"Expansion of our lactoferrin production allows us to meet the increasing demand for this important nutrient which is used globally in infant formula and other infant nutrition products," said Greg Unruh, General Manager. "We now have production to deliver thousands of kilograms of lactoferrin."

About Ventria Bioscience
Ventria Bioscience develops and markets health and nutrition products using its protein production system called ExpressTec. This technology has made it possible to cost-effectively deliver protein-based functional ingredients to the global community. Its first two products are proteins that are found naturally in breastmilk and have been shown to have benefits for use in infant formula and other infant nutrition products.
