Van Beek Natural Science Announces New Synacore Digestive Support Product
Date:2/3/2011

ORANGE CITY, Iowa, Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ron Van Beek, president and CEO of Van Beek Natural Science, announced the introduction of Synacore Digestive Support for dogs and cats, available exclusively through veterinarians.

Synacore is a specially formulated synbiotic digestive support supplement containing both probiotics and prebiotics that work together to support the growth of natural microflora in a dog's or cat's GI tract.  Van Beek Natural Science's formulations for Synacore also include the addition of enzymes and vitamins to further aid in digestion and support the animal's health.

"Research has shown that probiotics can induce a beneficial change in the intestinal microflora when pathogenic bacteria dominate the GI tract.  However, Synacore is completely different from other probiotic supplements on the market for pets.  Van Beek scientists specifically formulated Synacore with probiotic combinations of L. helveticus Rosell-52, L. casei Rosell-11, B. longum Rosell-175 and S. boulardii I-1079 to provide multiple lines of defense in the GI tract," said Van Beek.

Van Beek said these specific bacteria and yeast strains were selected because they are backed by published clinical trials with the research proving they offer optimal intestinal support.  He said, "Individually each strain is well-documented as to its specific beneficial effect, but when formulated together as they are in Synacore, they offer powerful support to the animal in several ways by: 1) adhering to pathogenic bacteria and preventing them from attaching to intestinal cells; 2) adhering to the intestinal epithelial cells effectively reinforcing the intestinal barrier; 3) producing lactic and acetic acid which essentially creates a hostile environment where pathogens can't multiply and grow; and 4) modulating the animal's immune system by increasing the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines."
