"The unique elements of the PatientRM system will help drive the quality, consistency and effectiveness of patient services within and outside of the US Oncology network."

"Globally, the information gathered by the PatientRM solution can be used by our customers in the oncology industry, including researchers, manufacturers, providers, payers, legislators, and others concerned with quality cancer care to enhance patient access and adherence so that we can save more lives from cancer," says Todd Schonherz, senior vice president and chief information officer at US Oncology, Inc.

PatientRM has shared capabilities that help to manage individual patient cases, activities and content; share data; develop documents; and ensure HIPAA compliance. Each business unit also uses the system to address its unique needs.

The system is integral to the Innovent Oncology Patient Support Services and Advance Care Planning programs. With the ability to maintain more than 3,000 patient-focused, evidence-based education materials, and, support ongoing nursing interventions that empower patients and promote the physician-patient relationship, quality of care can be enhanced for all patients served. Specialty drug regimens and compliance can also be tracked accurately for OncologyRx Care Advantage(TM) to guide patients through the various stages of treatment; and financial counselors, practice administrators, nurses and providers can access reimbursement and patient support services through the AccessMED(TM) call center, or through various innovative 24/7 self-service Web portals that support individual products.

The program also helps healthcare professionals review patients
