Eleven Attorneys Named 'Illinois Rising Stars'
CHICAGO, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that 21 of its attorneys have been named "Illinois Super Lawyers" for 2008 in a survey conducted by Law & Politics magazine. Additionally, 11 Brinks attorneys have been designated "Rising Stars" in Illinois.
Meredith Martin Addy, chair of the Appellate Group at Brinks, was named among the Top 10 Illinois Super Lawyers across all practice areas, one of the Top 50 Female Illinois Super Lawyers for the fourth consecutive year and one of the Top 100 of Illinois lawyers across all practice groups. Laura Beth Miller, chair of the International Trade Commission Group, was also listed as one of the Top 50 Female Illinois Super Lawyers for the second consecutive year. Gary M. Ropski, president of Brinks, and Roy E. Hofer, a senior shareholder, were named among the Top 100 Illinois Super Lawyers.
Law and Politics surveyed approximately 47,000 Illinois lawyers, representing more than 60 practice areas, and asked them to identify the best Illinois lawyers they had personally worked with or had observed in action. Attorneys from firms of all sizes were considered as well as those in private practice, prosecutors, in-house counsel and public service lawyers. New this year, the "Rising Stars" category identifies lawyers that are under the age of 40 or have been in practice for 10 years or less. The complete list of Illinois Super Lawyers appears in the 2008 Illinois Super Lawyers magazine and will appear in the February issue of Chicago magazine.
