ThreeWire Expands Presence in the Pharmaceutical Arena

Utilizes extensive experience in medical device industry to benefit

pharmaceutical clinical trial recruitment efforts

MINNEAPOLIS, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading clinical trial recruitment and direct-to-patient marketing firm ThreeWire has strengthened the pharmaceutical side of its business with the addition of two directors of business development and a commitment to leveraging differentiators unique to the medical device industry on behalf of pharmaceutical industry clients.

According to ThreeWire CEO and President, Mark Summers, "In the world of medical device clinical research studies, you have to motivate patients to agree to have a device surgically implanted in their body. Add to that a restrictive protocol, and you are now recruiting from a narrow, hard-to-reach patient population that must be prepared to undergo a highly invasive surgical procedure. Success depends on a system that targets only the most qualified patients and keeps them engaged throughout the healthcare continuum. It is that experience we are using to drive enrollment for pharmaceutical clinical trials."

In order to help pharmaceutical companies in their patient recruitment efforts, ThreeWire has hired Janine Katz and Shannon McDonnell. Katz is a business development professional with over ten years of experience in clinical trial patient recruitment and public relations programs in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. McDonnell brings leadership skills in business development in the healthcare field, including two years focused solely on clinical trial recruitment. Both will report to Jim Suddendorf, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Client Services.

"As the regulatory bar is being raised and greater numbers of patients are being required for trial completion, the challenge of patient recruitment is being elevated," adds Suddendorf. "Successful enrollment solutions depend on a systematic marketing approach, which is exactly what ThreeWire offers."

To deliver results, ThreeWire offers a full array of in-house services, including concept development, advertising, media planning and buying, and optimized website development, as well as site-based support and portal tools. Contract study coordinators can conduct patient record screenings, process patient referrals and assist with informed consent. ThreeWire also features a multi-lingual nurse-staffed call center and grassroots outreach.
