Thoratec Presentation at Baird Conference to be Webcast

PLEASANTON, Calif., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thoratec Corporation (Nasdaq: THOR), a world leader in device-based mechanical circulatory support therapies to save, support and restore failing hearts, said today that it will be participating in the Robert W. Baird & Co. Healthcare Conference on Wednesday, September 9.

David V. Smith, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will provide an update on the company beginning at 10 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time (7 a.m., Pacific Daylight Time).
