Thermo Fisher Scientific Unveils New Laboratory Technologies at Analytica 2008
Date:3/31/2008

Among the new technologies, products and capabilities introduced this year are:

Elemental Analysis

Thermo Scientific iCE 3000 Series of Atomic Absorption (AA)

spectrometers -- comprising the new iCE 3300, iCE 3400 and iCE 3500, the

innovative iCE 3000 Series has been designed to facilitate prolonged and

simplified operation -- even using the most difficult samples -- with

superior functionality. These new AA spectrometers are the most compact

available and have been developed to accommodate both flame and furnace

analyses. The new Thermo Scientific AA instruments primarily address the

analytical needs of users working in the food safety industry, as well

as the environmental, clinical, pharmaceutical, metals and materials

industries.

Molecular Spectroscopy

Thermo Scientific Nicolet(TM) iS(TM)10 FT-IR spectrometer -- powered by

new OMNIC(TM) Specta(TM) software, this easy-to-use system simplifies

advanced spectroscopy, enabling chemists in analytical and investigative

chemistry laboratories to take advantage of the power of FT-IR.

Thermo Scientific Nicolet(TM) iN(TM)10 FT-IR microscope -- powered by

new OMNIC(TM) Picta(TM) software, this FT-IR microscope is a significant

development that simplifies infrared microscopy for chemists in

analytical and investigative chemistry laboratories. The enhanced iN10

MX version provides new levels of imaging performance to microscopy and

chemical imaging, without the need for an external FT-IR spectrometer.

Thermo Scientific DXR SmartRaman spectrometer -- a new Raman platform

designed specifically for the needs and environment of the quality

control (QC) laboratory, it will enable many QC labs to harness the

power of the Raman technique for the first time.
