The International Congress on Personalized Medicine - Up Close and Personalized 2013 in Paris
Date:5/20/2013

Paris, France (PRWEB) May 20, 2013

On 25-28 July, 2013, UPCP 2013 will convene once again, this time – in Paris - the beautiful city of lights.

According to Prof. Eddy Karnieli, the congress chairperson, "Personalized Medicine is revolutionizing the medical world. Understanding and integrating genetic and molecular information with traditional clinical knowledge is the hallmark of this transformation. Much of the present medical practice is based on standard care derived from the epidemiologic studies of large cohorts that do not take into account the individual’s genetic, proteomic, and metabolic characteristics.”

This second UPCP 2013 Congress will focus mainly on the essential clinical, imaging, genomic, proteomic, metabolomic, pharmacogenomic and biomarker data necessary to predict, prevent and treat major medical conditions concerning cancer and metabolism (diabetes and obesity).

The UPCP 2013 faculty includes internationally renowned speakers, whose areas of expertise include chemical engineering, genetics, genomic medicine, computer science, radiology, nuclear medicine, obesity, endocrinology, metabolism and more. Many "hot topics" will be covered and discussed, such as implementing personalized oncology treatment, targeted personalized chemotherapy, analysis of genomic data, and more.

This year's opening lecture will be given by Dr. David Sidransky – the renowned oncologist and research scientist named and profiled by TIME magazine in 2001 as one of America’s top 10 physicians and scientists for his work on microsatellite cancer diagnostics.
