The Elmasonic S Ultrasonic Cleaner: Designed for the Scientific Laboratory

Tovatech announces German-engineered Elmasonic S Ultrasonic Cleaners with the versatility needed in the laboratory: to clean parts, degas solvent, and prepare samples, easily and reproducibly.

South Orange, NJ (PRWEB) November 4, 2008 -- Tovatech LLC announces the Elma Ultrasonic Cleaning Equipment for cleaning the wide variety of materials (glass, rubber, plastic, metal, etc.) found in laboratory vessels and equipment. The Elmasonic S is a multipurpose ultrasonic cleaner that can clean parts, degas solvent and reproducibly prepare samples.

Dust, dirt, oil, grease, pigments, and fingerprints, among other contaminants can be effectively cleaned from routine and critical laboratory equipment such as lenses, lab utensils, glass vessels, and equipment parts. All Elmasonic S Ultrasonic Cleaners from the smallest to the very highest capacity models use a proprietary 37 kHz high performance ultrasonic transducer for reliable and powerful operation. Bright green LEDs continuously display set temperature, actual temperature, set sonication time, and time remaining.

Pharmaceutical labs, in particular, can employ large Elmasonic S baths to clean stainless steel, Delrin®, and Teflon® plastic parts from tablet and capsule manufacturing equipment between batches. In addition to cleaning validation, The Elmasonic S units are used by drug companies for solvent degassing and sample preparation.

The new Elmasonic S Ultrasonic Cleaning line offers 13 different capacities from smallest units 0.2 gal (0.8 L) through the largest industrial size 24 gal (90 L) tank. All sizes include the same features (such as easy-to-use operating panel, timer, automatic 12-hour shut-off when set to run continuously) making them indispensable bench top units for laboratory applications. These units offer unsurpassed versatility with three different ultrasonic modes: Sweep for common cleaning tasks, Degas, and Normal.

In Normal mode the Elmasonic ultrasonic cleaners produce a stabilized frequency field, forcing the liquid to circulate and mix. Mixing, dispersing, emulsifying, and dissolving samples is most efficiently accomplished in this mode. In Sweep mode, frequencies are shifted continuously to ensure that cavitation occurs uniformly throughout the tank. Glass, metal, and plastic surfaces are most thoroughly cleaned in Sweep mode. Freshly mixed cleaning liquids are saturated with air which lessens the cleaning effect by suppressing cavitation. Degas mode is used to remove entrained air thereby assuring the most efficient cleaning. Degas mode is also effective for degassing HPLC solvents. To degas a freshly filled bath, Autodegas runs the unit in Degas mode for 10 minutes.

The Elmasonic S Ultrasonic cleaner assures reproducible sample preparation with its microprocessor, which senses the load and modulates the generator to deliver the same mixing for every run. The Autostart feature begins sonication only after the set temperature is reached. Optional cooling coils are available to control bath temperature for thermally labile samples.
