Dr George "Rusty" Gray II to further nurture Acta's three leading journals in the material sciences: Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, and Acta Biomaterialia
Acta Materialia Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr George "Rusty" Gray II has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Governors of Acta Materialia Inc. effective immediately. He succeeds Dr William F. Scott who passed away June 25, 2012.
Rusty, a native of New York, earned his PhD from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1981 and is currently a Laboratory Fellow and staff member in the dynamic properties and constitutive modeling team within the Materials Science Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has served as the TMS representative on the Acta Board of Governors since 2004.
Dr Gray said of his appointment, "I am honored and excited to serve as the Chair of the Board of Governors of Acta Materialia, Inc. and look forward to nurturing and growing the strengths represented by Acta's three journals to keep them at the forefront of the rapidly evolving research topics in materials science and engineering research."
