BuildingBlocks is market's first service for pre-purchasing industry standards

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Scientific business of Thomson Reuters today announced that Techstreet, the one-stop source for online access to industry codes and standards, launched its new Techstreet Subscriptions BuildingBlocks utility, allowing engineers to pre-purchase documents for the first time from publishers such as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), API (American Petroleum Institute), BSI (British Standards Institution), and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) for fast and easy access to essential information.

BuildingBlocks lets Techstreet subscription customers buy standards in advance, in increments of 25, 50, 75 or 100 documents from selected publishers without naming specific titles. Users can immediately download required codes or standards on demand once their BuildingBlocks account is activated.

"BuildingBlocks is the latest innovation in our ongoing development of the Techstreet Subscription platform," said Todd Fegan, vice president of operations at Techstreet. "We continually evaluate customer feedback against our product development strategy to identify tools that can better serve the engineering community. As more organizations realize the value of a managed information system, Techstreet Subscriptions is becoming a business-critical resource for thousands of engineers globally."

"Product development cycles are now faster than ever before and engineers need to be able to keep up with emerging technologies and global supply and demand," said Philip Virta, product manager for Techstreet Subscriptions. "As such, customers realize the value that can be gleaned from the self-serve utility in Techstreet BuildingBlocks. It gives us
