CHICAGO, Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sundberg, a leading provider of more than 75,000 unique brand name appliance and HVAC parts, is kicking off its "2nd Century" coast-to-coast expansion initiative in Chicago with the opening of a new headquarters facility and two state-of-the-art warehouses.
Founded in 1912, Sundberg has invested millions in the development of two world-class, logistically centric warehouses: a 110,000-square-foot facility that shares the company's headquarters location at 5852 W. 51st Street, as well as its first-ever warehouse operation on the city's north side, at 2627 N. Western Avenue.
For nine days beginning December 3, Sundberg is celebrating the opening of its new headquarters and southwest side warehouse with festivities, free food and beverages. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, Sundberg customers, their families and friends, as well as the general public are invited see the new facilities along with a museum-like display of antique home appliances entitled, Cookin', Cleanin', Chillin': The History of Home Appliances.
"For the last 100 years Sundberg has made every humanly possible effort to become the premier, service-oriented appliance and HVAC parts distributor in the country and in the minds of an extremely loyal customer following," Robert Burke, Sundberg chairman and CEO, said.
"Looking forward to the next 100 years and a very different business landscape, it is critical for the company to establish these two newest distribution sites within blocks of major interstate highways and in close proximity to Chicago's Midway Airport and O'Hare International Airport," Burke said. "In doing so we can continue to expedite our deliveries to customers regardless of their location, while looking forward to expanding the brick-and-mortar footprint beyond our other 20-plus parts distribution locations in Illinois and eight other states," he added.
Sundberg, America's longest running appliance and HVAC parts distributor, provides only genuine factory parts and more than 135 top brand names – more than any other parts supplier in the nation. Founded in Chicago in 1912 by C.E. Sundberg, the company also leads the industry in terms of order fulfillment, selling more than three million parts annually. The company's vast array of parts is supported 24 hours a day/7 days a week by an expert team of sales and customer support personnel.
