SpineSmith to Present at the 5th Annual Stem Cell Summit
Date:2/15/2010

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Robert Johnson, MD, of Neurosurgical Associates of San Antonio, is presenting at the 5th Annual Stem Cell Summit in New York on February 16, 2010. Dr. Johnson will be presenting his most recent data proving the efficacy of point of care adult stem cell therapies in spine surgery.  Point of care technology utilizes the patient's own cells derived from bone marrow to inhibit bone growth in spinal fusion procedures.  Dr. Johnson believes promoting cell therapy utilizing the patient's own cells will change the future landscape of medicine.

"The use of autologous stem cells is revolutionizing medical care in both the prevention and treatment of spinal disorders," said Johnson.

The annual Stem Cell Summit brings together the leading medical, financial and scientific innovators within the rapidly expanding field of regenerative medicine. SpineSmith has been an avid attendee and sponsor of the Stem Cell Summit for numerous years and built a business around the future of regenerative medicine.  SpineSmith launched Celling Technologies to research and develop cell therapies through the collaboration of scientists, engineers and medical providers in a wide spectrum of applications including spine, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, cardiovascular and disease.

Dr. James Poser, Vice President of Regenerative Medicine for Celling Technologies, believes the future of regenerative medicine is upon us and the science has quickly pushed technology to deliver results-based medicine.  Dr. Poser believes point of care technologies are quickly becoming a source for consistent, reliable and predictable results for cell therapies.
