Spanish Research Consortium Signs Four-Year Renewal Deal for ISI Web of Knowledge

About FECYT

The Spanish Science and Technology Foundation (FECYT), is an organisation of the Ministry for Education and Science, created in 2001 as a tool of the Spanish R&D to achieve the following aims:

To promote activities of excellent technological research and development.

Through continuous follow up of the advance and effectiveness of policies

that support Research and Development, in different action ways in Spain,

and the assessment of the scientific and socioeconomic impact of the used

measures.

To favour collaboration between national and international agents of

science and technology system.

From intermediary activities between different agents of the system and

through initiatives that favour the transfer of knowledge and technology.

To promote the social spreading of the scientific culture, as a tool of

competitiveness and improvement of the life quality of citizens.

With the development of aimed activities at making aware general society

of the role of science, technology and innovation in economy and society

and with the spreading and popularization of initiatives that could be

carried out by the scientific community to release its achievements to the

society.

One of the very relevant activities within its work-programme is to hold

the National License for the access to the ISI Web of Knowledge for the

full Spanish R&D system.
