Elsevier to continue publishing Biological Psychiatry

Elsevier, and the Society of Biological Psychiatry (SOBP) are pleased to announce a renewal of their publishing agreement. Under the agreement, Elsevier will continue to provide publishing services for the society's journal Biological Psychiatry. The SOBP and Elsevier have worked together continuously since 1983.

According to Scott L. Rauch, MD, President of the Society, "We are absolutely delighted at the prospect of this continuing the collaboration between Elsevier and SOBP. Biological Psychiatry embodies our mission and values by providing an outstanding vehicle for sharing the best of peer-reviewed psychiatric neuroscience research to reflect and help advance the field. We are grateful to our editorial team, to Elsevier, and to the engaged scientific community of authors, reviewers and readership that make this possible."

Biological Psychiatry is published twice a month and is the official journal of SOBP, whose purpose is to promote excellence in scientific research and education in fields that investigate the nature, causes, mechanisms and treatments of disorders of thought, emotion, or behavior. The journal has a 2011 Impact Factor of 8.283 and ranks 5 of 129 journals in the Psychiatry category and 16 of 243 journals in Neurosciences according to the Journal Citations Reports® published by Thomson Reuters.
