ST. LOUIS, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) has been ranked as one of the top ten employers in the biotechnology industry, according to the recent 2007 Top Biotech and Pharma Employers survey conducted by Science magazine. Survey takers for Science recognized Monsanto as being an innovative leader in the industry and doing important, quality research. This is the first year Monsanto, the only agricultural company on the list, has been ranked on Science's top employers list.

"On behalf of Monsanto and its employees, we're honored and excited to receive this great recognition," said Robert T. Fraley, Ph.D., chief technology officer and executive vice president for Monsanto.
