SANYO and BD Biosciences Collaborate to Offer Researchers Valuable Technology and Research Tools

WOOD DALE, Ill. and FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SANYO North America Corporation (SANYO) Biomedical Solutions Division and BD Biosciences, a segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), announced a strategic agreement today to jointly promote cutting-edge life science research tools designed to advance cell culture and cell therapy research, which will help them expand their presence in the cell therapy, cell culture and overall life sciences markets.

"Leveraging our collective strengths, SANYO and BD Biosciences aim to continually advance products that help research and development," said SANYO Biomedical Solutions division President Toshiaki Inoue. "This collaboration will enable us to offer our customers more value by integrating our existing products and technologies as well as exploring new cell therapy research tools."  

The goals of this collaboration are to develop long-term and short-term co-marketing programs, as well as to research innovative ways to combine product technologies and offerings to serve both current and untapped market applications. SANYO will integrate with BD Biosciences' SySTEMatic ExCELLence(SM) marketing campaign.

The two businesses will work together to grow current and future business by combining SANYO CO2 incubators with specialized BD Biosciences - Discovery Labware products. They will also combine SANYO refrigerators and freezers with BD Advanced Bioprocessing cell culture media and supplements for multiple research applications.
