Rocky Mountain Biologicals Expands Custom Serum Filtration Facility
Date:4/8/2013

Missoula, Montana (PRWEB) April 08, 2013

To help supply the growing global demand for ultra-high quality serum and protein fractionation manufacturing, Rocky Mountain Biologicals’ protein fractionation manufacturing and serum filtration facility in Missoula, Montana has been expanded to 20,000 square feet.

With the new addition RMBIO gains an additional 6,000 liters of production and custom serum filtration capacity. This addition doubles RMBIO's capabilities for serum filtration. The increased capacity allows for large lot sizes, minimizes lot to lot variability, and helps RMBIO continue to provide ultra-high quality products that provide extremely consistent cell growth in cell culture applications.

Expanded freezer capacity allows RMBIO to further enhance its global supply chain optimization initiative. Continuing to source bovine raw materials from the safest sources, including Australia, New Zealand and the U.S., is helping to make RMBIO one of the most trusted suppliers of specialized blood products in the world. RMBIO's product descriptions are listed on their web site at http://www.rmbio.com , and include Bovine, Horse, Porcine and other serum and biologicals used worldwide by medical and pharmaceutical companies.

According to RMBIO's CEO Suresh Daniel, the expansion has been done in timely way. Daniel stated, “We are experiencing ever-increasing demand for our serum products, particularly fetal bovine serum and new born calf serum. The worldwide supply of these serum products is tight right now as a result of the cyclical nature of the cattle industry. Thus the demand for our bovine cholesterol products, which reduce or eliminate the need for fetal bovine serum in cell culture applications, is also at an all-time high.”

Production capacity of Rocky Mountain Biologicals cell culture grade lipoprotein cholesterol concentrate product, Lipogro, as well as RMBIO's custom LDL cholesterol fraction product has been enhanced by the expansion. RMBIO also produces a porcine cholesterol concentrate, which is high in LDL, for use in the diagnostic industry.

About Rocky Mountain Biologicals: RMBIO ( http://www.rmbio.com ) is a global manufacturer of high quality, specialized biological products, including lipoprotein and cholesterol solutions, bovine serum albumin (BSA), sera, and water for injection products. RMBIO's products are manufactured and tested according to GMP requirements. These products are sourced from domestic (U.S.) and Australian/New Zealand raw material for use as cell culture growth factors and diagnostic test materials. These products are used by many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic, animal health and research institutions.
