Robin C. Stracey Joins Cantimer, Inc. as President and CEO

Vice President and General Manager of an analytical instrument business unit at Thermo Electron Corporation. He joined Thermo Electron from Dade Behring Inc., where he was a Corporate Vice President with general management responsibility for Syva Company, a leading supplier of specialized diagnostic systems and reagents. His early career included a variety of sales, commercial marketing and strategy development positions of increasing responsibility in DuPont's Medical Products Department. Mr. Stracey has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

"The Company's technology is elegant and has broad potential application in a number of large markets where accurate, rapid detection and measurement of analytes is important. The initial focus on hydration measurement will create a new and much needed capability within health care," he added.

Cantimer is a privately-held development stage company commercializing a patented, proprietary sensor technology platform having applications in life science, health care, bio-defense and consumer markets. The technology will initially be embodied into point-of-care products for convenient, non-invasive, measurement and monitoring of human hydration status using saliva as a sample.
