Richard A. Schatz, M.D. Joins Cardium's Scientific Advisory Board

SAN DIEGO, May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cardium Therapeutics (Amex: CXM) announced today that Richard A. Schatz, M.D., has joined its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Schatz is an early pioneer of coronary stent technology and is best known for the co-development of the first successful coronary stent, the Palmaz-Schatz stent. Dr. Schatz is Research Director of Cardiovascular Interventions at the Heart, Lung, and Vascular Center at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. He is also active in gene and stem cell therapy research and teaches and lectures worldwide.
