Renowned Operations and Supply Chain Expert Dr. David Simchi-Levi Joins OPS Rules
Date:7/2/2012

Waltham, Massachusetts (PRWEB) July 02, 2012

OpsRules Partners, LLC., a leading operations strategy consulting firm, today announced that Dr. David Simchi-Levi, world renowned supply chain expert, has joined the company as chairman.

Dr. David Simchi-Levi is an Engineering Systems professor at MIT and the co-founder of LogicTools, a supply chain software company that is now part of IBM. He has extensive experience both on the academic and the business sides of operations and supply chain management and is considered a leader in these fields.

His most recent book “Operations Rules: Delivering customer value through flexible operations” has been praised by business executives. The book addresses the current business concerns around Complexity Management, Flexibility, Segmentation and Supply Chain Risk Management. Dr. Simchi-Levi identifies the crucial element in a company's success: the link between the values it provides its customers and its operations strategies. Most importantly, he offers a set of scientifically and empirically-based rules that management can follow to achieve a quantum leap in operations performance.

Indeed, Professor Simchi-Levi's recent work with companies such as Cisco, Dell Computers and Pepsi Beverage Company, to name a few, underscores the impact of effective implementation of concepts such as supply chain flexibility, segmentation and complexity reduction on the firm's bottom line.

“There are many opportunities to achieve improved performance through better understanding of the basic drivers of operations” stated Dr. Simchi-Levi “I am excited to join OPS Rules and implement the many concepts and ideas that I have developed over many years. The opportunity to work with a team of professionals in order to delve into a company’s specific challenges, analyze its data and come up with innovative solutions that help it thrive is what drives me to start this new endeavor.”

Mike Romeri, OPS Rules Managing Partner observed “We are delighted that Dr. Simchi-Levi is joining us. Together we can achieve transformational thinking and develop intellectual property that enables and drives significant changes in strategy to improve customer value and reduce operational costs and risk.”
