Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia's Founder Returns Home to Celebrate Cancer Survivors and Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

FULTON, Miss., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank A. Critz, M.D., founder and medical director of Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia, will be honored with a hometown hero's welcome this April when he returns to Fulton, Miss.  for a mini reunion to celebrate prostate cancer survivors.  The event will be April 14, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Express located at 1505 South Adams Street in Fulton from noon until 3 p.m., and lunch will be served.

This mini reunion will celebrate survivors and honor Dr. Critz for his innovation of ProstRcision®, maintaining the world's largest database on prostate cancer-treated patients and for his lifelong work as a Radiation Oncologist.  Mayor Paul Walker will present Dr. Critz with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

As director of prostate cancer research of Radiotherapy Clinic of Georgia and a leading authority on prostate cancer treatment, Dr. Critz has treated  over 14, 000 men with prostate cancer over the past 30 years.  He pioneered ProstRcision®, the prostate cancer treatment with the highest documented cure rate of any prostate cancer treatment approach in the medical community.  Dr. Critz has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed research papers on prostate cancer that have been presented at major medical meetings or published in medical journals.

Dr. Critz earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Mississippi and University of Florida.  In 1984, he founded Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia, now a Vantage Oncology affiliate, which operates five radiation therapy facilities throughout metro Atlanta.  The clinics are committed to providing the most advanced technology in Radiation Therapy treating all types of cancer, including breast, prostate, lung, colon, lymphoma, to name a few.

Dr. Critz is an active member in several organizations including American Medical Association, DeKalb County Medical Society, Medical Association of Georgia, American Society of Radiation Oncology, Association of Freestanding Radiation Oncology Centers, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Brachytherapy Society.  He currently practices at Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia's Decatur facility.
