Proposed acquisition to augment Quintiles Consulting offerings

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Quintiles Transnational Corp. today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Eidetics, a privately held decision-analytics and market research consulting firm located in Boston as part of its expanding Quintiles Consulting business.

The acquisition of Eidetics will strengthen Quintiles' core consulting offerings in the areas of product development, commercialization and market access. Quintiles is expanding its consulting practices to help its pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device clients navigate the complex business environment.

"The addition of Eidetics to our Quintiles Consulting business will further strengthen our ability to provide our clients with distinctive, data-driven, strategic solutions to their toughest challenges throughout the product lifecycle," said Jay Norman, President, Quintiles Consulting.

Eidetics has provided research-based market insights and data analytics to support business decision making in drug development and commercialization for the past 20 years and counts among its repeat clients 18 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies.

"We are looking forward to welcoming the Eidetics team to Quintiles Consulting," Norman said. "They have earned an enviable reputation for strong research and analytics expertise and outstanding client service. Together, we will offer industry-leading strategic consulting, powered by life sciences expertise, operational insights and data analytics."

"We are excited about the opportunity to become part of the Quintiles organization," said Jim Kirk, Partner, Eidetics. "We believe that joining Quintiles Consulting will build upon the past success of Eidetics' business, while providing our clients enhanced clinical, patient and provider data, greater therapeutic depth and access to global resources."
